Salerno
“When I first visited Salerno I was struck by the vigour and the energy of this noisy, dusty city. Full of small businesses, tripe stalls and criss-crossed by washing lines slung above the narrow, medieval streets.  Home to cantinas and churches and university students and, always, buzzing Mopeds.
I have created a chandelier inspired by the colours of the late afternoon shadows, the ornate gilded decoration of the Cathedral's Baroque Crypt and the bright oranges, honey yellows and bluey-mauves of the frescos by Pietro Sorisene in the Chiesa di San Giorgio”.

The title “Water is the driver of nature” is a quote from Leonardo da Vinci which inspired this work.

Hand cast and fused glass with sea glass, sea pearls and found objects represent the planet’s evolution, ending in our own reflection.
