GillGovanGlass.co.uk
Originally from London, Gill moved to the Isle of Mull in the Hebrides in 2003. She works from her glass studio in Tobermory.
Gill creates bespoke chandeliers which she makes from a mix of Bullseye, Striker and Cathedral Glass. They are hand cut, layered and fused. She imbeds Dichroic glass and Millefiori into her work and casts her own unique shapes and droplets. Ground glass and porcelain paint are used to draw patterns, birds, animals and plants onto the glass. She also includes ‘found’ and refashioned objects, old chandelier drops and jewellery.
Gill likes to personalise her customers' chandeliers, giving their own broken jewellery and mementos a new lease of life by incorporating them into the work.
